LinkedInMille Miglia 2017 90th anniversary in pictures
Today Mille Miglia will celebrate its 90th anniversary with 450 cars participating in the four-day challenge from Brescia to Rome and back.
The event, which has 705 entries from 43 countries and 85 car brands, will include Lancias, Bugattis, Alfa Romeos, Jaguars, Porsches, Aston Martins and BMWs, which all participated in Mille Miglia races between 1927 and 1957.
Car number one will be an O.M. 665 Superba, paying homage to the brand from Brescia that won the first Coppa delle Mille Miglia, in 1927.
In order to be participate in the event cars had to have at least one certification from Fiche ACI-CSAI (Italian Motor Sport Commission), the FIA HTP (Historic technical passport issued by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) or FIVA ID (Identity Card of Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens) to vouch for their authenticity.
