Sebastien Loeb to appear in his Pikes Peak Peugeot 208 T16 at the 2017 Les Grandes Heures Automobiles

17 July 2017

Nine-time World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb has confirmed he will be appearing on the steep banking of the Autodrome de Linas-Montlhéry in his record-breaking 875 bhp Peugeot T16 Pikes Peak at this year’s Les Grandes Heures Automobiles.

The phenomenal twin-turbo 3.2-litre V6 T16, which boasts 875 bhp and a weight of just 875 kg, was used by Loeb to smash the record for the Pikes Peak hill climb race in Colorado Springs in 2013. It took him just eight minutes 13 seconds to travel the 20 kilometres between 2,865 and 4,301 metres above sea level, a feat that remains unequalled to this day.

As well as the opportunity to witness the record-breaking driver in a record-breaking Peugeot, a number of other significant competition Peugeots will also be in action at the 2017 LGHA. Alongside the T16, Peugeot will also be exercising its Group B 205 T16s, African Rally 204 and CD-Peugeot LM66 short-tail Le Mans racer.

In addition to historic Peugeots in action, other LGHA partners will also be making a contributing to the event. One of these is Yacco. The French motor oil company has broken a number of significant endurance records at the banked Montlhéry Autodrome since the 1920s, using cars such as the 1925 Voisin, 1931 Citroen C6 F ‘Petit Rosalie’ and the 1953 Citroen 2CV Barquette – some of which will be appearing at this year’s event.

Additionally, French auction house Aguttes will be holding its first historic motor vehicle sale at the LGHA. The event’s strategic partnership with UTAC CERAM – the owners of the Autodrome de Linas- Montlhéry – has assured the LGHA’s future at the venue for years to come, as both parties share a strong passion for the banked circuit, which is often considered to be the French temple of automotive history and motor sport.
