GRRC Fellowship welcomes Cooper racing dynasty

28 October 2019

Goodwood has welcomed the third and fourth generation of the Cooper family to its GRRC Fellowship.

Mike and Charlie Cooper join the Fellowship with the Coopers’ history in the sport dating back to the 1920s, including winning the 1959 and 1960 Formula 1 world championships, as well as creating the Mini-Cooper.

“In 2019, Goodwood celebrated the Cooper name as never before with the 60th anniversary of our first Formula 1 world championship titles at the Revival,” said Mike Cooper.

“Charlie and I, the family as a whole, have been left with indelible memories of the most magnificent gathering of Cooper racing cars and mementoes of our history, and the Fellowship means that we will stay close to the action throughout the year to come.”

One of the principal benefits of the Fellowship, which is in its second year, is the opportunity to buy tickets to the celebrated Goodwood Members’ Meeting, which opens the 2020 motorsport calendar on March 28-29 with a relaxed and informal weekend crammed full of historic racing action and crowned by the S.F. Edge Trophy for pre-1920 racing cars and the Gerry Marshall Trophy for Group 1 saloon cars.
