Exciting weekend ahead for the CTCRC

29 May 2019

The Classic Touring Car Racing Club (CTCRC) is looking forward to a weekend of exciting racing at Silverstone as it headlines the British Automobile Racing Club’s race meeting.

The event, on June 1st and 2nd, will see a range of iconic touring cars in action including Morris Minors, Hillman Imps and Austin A40s battling with Ford Anglias and Mini Coopers in the Pre ’66 Touring Car Championship, and Triumph Dolomites, Ford Capris and an Alfa Romeo GTV6 in the Pre ’83 Touring Car Championship.

More modern machinery will also be trading paint on Silverstone’s asphalt, with the Pre ’93, Pre ’03 and Pre ’05 classes also out in force. This category will see Civic Type Rs going up against mighty M3s and agile little Clio 182s. Finally, at the more extreme end of the spectrum will be the Blue Oval Saloon Series (BOSS) races, where Ford’s finest will be pitted against each other, and the Thunder Saloon Series, which features very open regulations to encourage ever more outlandish machines. Among these monsters are BMW M3s, Nissan Skylines and even the burly Australian Holden Monaro.

In addition to the Touring Car categories, the event will also play host to Series Elite Jaguar races, the Junior Saloon Car Championship and the Kumho BMW Championship among others. Advance tickets are now sold out, but tickets can still be purchased on the day for £15.
