Motor Racing Legends launches a one-off GT40 Historic Series
Motor Racing Legends, the company behind races such as Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy and the Stirling Moss Trophy and DK Engineering are launching a dedicated race for Ford GT40s next year.
The new Historic one-off race series for the Ford GT40 will include two races for the ‘Amon Cup’ in 2021 and last for 80 minutes. The Cup is named after prolific GT40 driver, Chris Amon, whose family will present the award at each round.
The first race will be held at Donington Historic Festival on May 1 and 2; with the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit being the venue for the final race of the season on October 30 and 31 at Motor Racing Legends’ newly-announced end-of-year meeting.
Races will be for cars running to Pre-’66 specification, open to two-drivers, with a duration of 80 minutes with a 45 qualifying session.
